Tromsø, Norway.

I made a trip to Norway in 2014. Here are some pictures from the trip. My destination was Tromsø. It's a city in northern Norway. I made my trip by car and some of the pics are taken while just sitting in my car. The views in Norway are just breathtaking!

Northern Lights

Up in the north it's a great privilege to have an opportunity to see the Northern Lights every now and then. They are also known as the Aurora Borealis. Even though they are quite a common sight here, especially in autumn and early winter, they still manage to amaze me every time as they dance with the stars.

Home sweet home

Previously I've published some frosty night scenes of my home town in wintertime, so here are some photos of Raahe in sunlight as well. There are a lot of old timber architecture in Raahe from the seafaring era dating back to the 18th century.

Helsinki in March - vol. 2

The senate square is really the starting point of Helsinki. There are located the oldest buildings of Helsinki and it is the historical center of the city.

Helsinki in March - vol. 1

Let me introduce you Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Helsinki is especially known for its spectacular Jugend -style architecture, also known as Art Nouveau. Helsinki is one of the finest Jugend-cities in Europe. The Jugend-style flourished in Helsinki from late 19th century to early 20th century. These pictures are taken from Katajanokka, which is an area located right by the city center.

Black&white nostalgy

Sometimes it's nice to go through older picture archives on my computer. I found these b&w pics, that I've shot on film with various different cameras. These are developed and printed by hand in a darkroom. Nostalgic...

Raahe in moonlight

We were blessed with a beautiful full moon a couple of days ago here in northern Finland. I'm glad that I had a day off and was able to go out and experience this winter magic. I captured these moonlight scenes in my hometown, Raahe. The sky was clear and I was surrounded by glittering diamonds as the moon and the stars lit this icy scene. Beautiful.

Winter and frost at last!

Today winter really started! When I shot these pictures it was really cold, about -15 degrees below celsius. The seashore is already frozen, as you can see. Wonderful winter!
